As part of a series of lectures held in the Commercial Press Hanfen Gallery, Wangfujing street, April 27, “Ballads of Jade” will be hosted by Huang Qinghui, an executive member of the World Chinese Poetry Association. The lecture will go from 2.30 pm-4.30 pm and hopes to strengthen cultural ties between Chinese people and preserve national heritage.
The event includes Huang Qinghui’s presentation of her precious collector item, the book Menzi, a rare edition printed in the Qing Dynasty. Huang will also demonstrate the steps and techniques of rare book restoration, and discuss the significance of inheriting traditional Chinese culture. Moreover, she will share with the audience her collection of ancient treasures of the study such as the Shoushan Stone Seal, and discuss with attendants how the artistic origins of traditional 【琴棋书画】(zither-playing, chess, calligraphy and painting) and 【诗书画印】(poetry, calligraphy, painting and seal carving) coexist and complement each other, ultimately becoming transforming into a singular mastery.
Visitors can also get Huang Qinghui’s book 《凤簪恩深：文房珍玩的古典情怀》signed by her, as well as a guzheng music album 《兰为国香谱》.
